The Chase Choir is the brainchild of Karen Logan, a professional singer and teacher, who moved into Whaddon Village, with a passion for music that she was keen to share with everyone.  The choir was formed in January 2013.  Karen is our inspirational choir leader.

A choir also needs a great accompanist, and we are lucky enough to have three fantastic ladies to support us in this demanding role: the endlessly patient Ros and Holly (currently on maternity leave).  They are highly talented pianists whose calm encouragement and brilliant mind-reading skills (!) make them the ideal people to work with us.  We also have the lovely Jess, who is kind enough to stand in for Ros from time to time.

Our village is a very sociable community, full of talented performers, and we like nothing more than getting together with anyone from anywhere who loves singing and wants to join in.  The Chase Choir consists of about 55 members, some of whom travel a fair distance each week to share their enthusiasm with voices and a musical accompaniment.

We meet on a Monday evening in the village hall, Stock Lane, from 7pm to 9pm, with the first half hour sometimes used as dedicated practice time for sopranos, altos or tenors/basses, on an alternating basis.  All it costs is £2 each week, which is used to pay for hall hire, and any additional choir expenses.

We’re always happy for new members to join us, so if you’d like to experience a warm Chase Choir welcome, meet some new people, exercise your vocal chords and have fun, please get in touch with Karen, who will give you more details about our next rehearsal.  No audition is required to join.

Over the last 3 years, we have sung at a wide variety of events: a Masonic Lodge evening, our school May Fayre, a World War 1 memorial service, two weddings and Summer and Christmas concerts in our village hall, and local churches.  We also pay occasional visits to sing at a local residential home for the elderly.  Our more unusual singing appearances were at 2 flashmob events, at a certain shopping centre, which were very well received! For the past 3 years, we were proud to be competing in the Milton Keynes Music Festival in March.  For more news, please see our Events page.  We are members of the National Association of Choirs.

If you are interested in booking us to sing at an event, Karen, or Marianna, our minutes secretary will be happy to help, or visit our Contact page.
